1. World Series of Poker
If you love Texas Hold’Em Poker, the World Series of Poker is THE Poker championship of the year! For $1,000 you can join the tournament with some of the best poker players in the country. The World Series of Poker is held at Binion’s Horseshoe in downtown Las Vegas. The winner gets the one million dollar prize!
2. Professional Bull Riders Championships
Towards the end of October, the top bull riders in the world go head to head with some of the fiercest bulls to see who can go the 8 second ride. PBR Championships last for four days and are held at the Thomas and Mack Center. All of Las Vegas is buzzing during this event because every cowboy from Texas to Argentina is there for this yearly event.
3. Motor Trend International Auto Show
If you love cars, the Motor Trend Auto Show in the Las Vegas Convention Center is the place to be. See every new car, minivan, SUV, and truck to compare features in a non-selling environment. But the best part is the futuristic concept cars unveiling and the ultra high-end exotic vehicles put on display by the DuPont Registry!
4. New Year’s Eve on the Strip
Las Vegas on the Strip is arguably one of the best places in the world to be on New Years Eve! With the partying street crowds and top name entertainers you can ring in the New Year in style.
5. NASCAR Winston Cup
Las Vegas is one of the host cities for the NASCAR Winston Cup races. In early March, the Las Vegas Motor Speedway hosts the annual event UAW Daimler/Chrysler 400. If you love the revving of engines, slick tires, and high performance vehicles whipping around the oval track, the Winston Cup is sure to deliver!
6. Fremont Street Mardi Gras
Every April, Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas is transformed into a Bourbon Street look-a-like for a Mardi Gras celebration. Follow the procession down five city blocks enjoying Cajun delicacies, New Orleans music, and beads, alcohol, and plenty of scantily-clad women. The Las Vegas Mardi Gras celebration last for two days.
7. Helldorado Days
Helldorado Days has been a Las Vegas tradition since 1934. Helldorado Days celebrates Las Vegas’ Wild West roots with a rodeo, parade, golf and poker tournaments. It’s held in Mid-May in downtown Las Vegas.
8. Bite of Las Vegas
As the state’s largest food and music festivals, the Bite of Las Vegas is a fun way to spend a late October day. You can sample foods from over 45 local restaurants and enjoy live entertainment.
9. Clark County Fair
The Clark County Fair and Rodeo celebrates its country tradition with farm exhibits and animals, rodeo events, BBQ, amusement rides, country cooking, and country music. The Clark County Fair is held for four days in mid-April in Logandale, NV.
10. Greek Food Festival
At the end of September each year, St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church holds the Greek Food Festival highlighting the best of Greek culture and food. Expect to see Greek dancing, music, and street vendors selling yummy baklava and other Greek delicacies.
