Best Places to Find Christmas Gifts

Christmas DecorationsChristmas is a time of merriment as well as giving and receiving, and even though most of us would wish that Mr. Santa would take care of the giving part for all of us, while we focus all our energies on receiving, reality is actually very different.

We have all been through the rigors of buying presents right from the start of the Christmas season till the very last day and God help us if we happen to forget someone!!!

It is not the easiest task to buy so many presents, for so many people, to satisfy different requirements and tastes. At such times you often wish to get to one place that would make this genre of shopping, if not a breeze, then at least a task that would not leave you spinning and confused. We have put together a list of some of the best places around the globe, where you can find gifts that would surely make anyone’s Christmas special.

HanoiHanoi, Vietnam

Vietnam is a beautiful country, which was once a French colony. One thing usually associated with French, that has benefited the country is the sense of style and a captivating élan in their art and craft. They are neither riddled with the same old brand names, nor are plagued with heaps of cheap and worthless stuff straight from the mass production lines. So if you happen to visit Hanoi and decide to get something different for your loved ones for Christmas head towards the Nha Tho Street. The place has been equaled to Paris’s Marais for presenting the best in Vietnamese fashion, art, craft, furnishings and of course the beaded handbags of Hanoi that are famous around the world. If your quest for the perfect gifts makes you feel famished, you will find places to snack as well as get coffee that would make you wonder if you really are in Paris.

Paramus ParkNorthern New Jersey, East Coast, USA

Paramas and its adjoining area is a very good place to go for Christmas shopping on the East Coast. The three major malls in the area make shopping for different budgets and lifestyles rather easy. Apart from these there are many other outlets. All in all you will have a very good chance to get through your whole list if you have the time and energy to scour through the area. The major malls, Garden State Plaza, Paramus Park, and for the upscale shoppers, the Riverside Square Mall will be a good starting point. If you go a little farther, you can do your outlet shopping at the Woodbury Commons at about 30 minutes drive. Also being close to downtown Manhattan, the added benefit of this area is that if all else fails, you can get there in about 25 minutes.

SydneySydney, Australia

Sydney in Australia is where the action is on Christmas and New Year. The city sees a lot of shopper activity during the Christmas season. Even though you can find shopping malls through out the city, for those who are really serious about shopping, the city center is the place to be. The World Square Shopping Center, Martin Place with GPO shopping center and the MLC as well as the Strand are places that would definitely tempt you to spend to your hearts content. If you start traveling to the west, you would be amazed to see the kind of bargains you can get on a great variety of items. Another major stop for shoppers in Sydney is the famous Rocks, offering things from jewellery to fashion items and of course food to keep you going and going….

Most of us would know the name Marylebone from the famous board-game Monopoly, but of recent years, the place has taken the center stage in London as one of the hottest place to be. The Marylebone High Street makes you understand what the fuss is all about. It is by far the best place in London to go shopping for your Christmas gifts with an amazing range and variety that would make keeping your wallet in a real challenge. ParisParis, France

If you are thinking style and elegance think Paris. Need we say more? Parisians are lucky, but those who happen to be in Paris, during this time of the year and then go home without something for their loved ones from this sacred land of fashion might be in for a tumultuous holiday.

There are many places that we can suggest as a great destination for your Christmas shopping, like the Grands Magasins on the Boulevard Haussmannf, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré or the Marais, to name just a few. If, though you want to try a different and unusual Paris Christmas shopping experience then going around the Metro is also a great idea. The makeshifts stalls, set up here and there when no one is looking, offer great bargains and a very different variety, with a guaranteed pleasant service reflecting the jolly season as well.

North PoleNorth Pole

What is Christmas if North Pole does not get a mention…home to the fat old man himself, North Pole offers a very unique shopping experience. Even though a lot of the people from the Pole come to the cities to do most of their Christmas shopping but for people from the cities it’s a great place to shop at to authenticate the experience. There are not any malls at the place but you will find very nice locally hand made items. Their winter wear is very special as is the custom hand made blown glass wear. Also the range of fruits and berries found there is not found anywhere else, so do try the confectionery from the bakeries as you won’t get it anywhere else.
