Brisbane is Australia’s third largest city, a vibrant city with pleasant and welcoming people. The series of international events that marked the city’s reputation starting in 1982 made it one of the most famous Aussie cities, and now tourism is a prosperous industry in Brisbane. In such a fascinating city, one might skip some spots so here are some attractions in Brisbane you have to visit before leaving.

Conrad Treasury Casino

When searching  a hotel in Brisbane, think twice before choosing your accommodation. You might stay in a heritage building that hosts also five restaurants, seven bars and a club, right in the middle of the city’s shopping district! That’s Conrad Treasury Casino, that occupies two early 19th century Edwardian-Baroque buildings separated by the lovely Queen Gardens.

The Story Bridge

This 777 meters long bridge is one of Brisbane’s most famous landmarks. The bridge spans more than 250 meters over the Brisbane River. It was built in the 1930s and nowadays it carries three car lanes in every direction and a shared pedestrian cycle lane. Walking or driving on this bridge offers some of the best sights over Brisbane’s downtown.

The Brisbane Eye

Although it’s not as big as the world famous London Eye, this amazing wheel is still a hotspot for all the tourist visiting Brisbane. For 15$, you can be in one of the 42 capsules that take you as high as 60 meters to give you a 360 view of the city. A small price to pay for such an awesome experience, considering that in 15 minutes you’ll see Brisbane as you’ve never seen it before!

Kangaroo Point Cliffs

Just across the Brisbane River from the Business District, prepare to… climb some rocks! A popular spot for all the climbers in the area, the Kangaroo Point Cliffs rise from a park area, between tables, chairs and electric barbecues. You can visit the rocks in the night as well, since they are lit at night.

Brisbane City Hall

One of Brisbane’s finest buildings and a true landmark of the city, the rectangular City Hall was once the tallest in Brisbane, due to its 91 m (298 ft) high tower. The City Hall faces the King George Square, a popular place for all kind of events in Brisbane. It is a structure that impresses not only by its grandeur, but by its amazingly defined details, as well.
