I thought we could all put in our ideas for a low budget trip through Europe. So here goes my observation:

5 Deutsche Mark for a 45 minute ferry ride from (Puttgarden? probably) a town 200 km from Hamburg to Copenhagen. Those are beautiful waters and for those who can't afford cruises, its wonderful to just be able to take that 45 minute ride.

If you time your trip well, you can get great disscounts in Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and even the Belgian capital. These are tourist hotspots and hotspots for business folk too but if the business is slow and off season you can get stay for much cheaper than usual in top class business hotels. Try summer or even the weekends.
