I want to know how you'd consider the risk of traveling abroad. Would it be through statistics? check how high the crime rate is? like how many murders during the year or something like that? or is it something else?

Stats don't always cover the scene, I check out what people are saying about the place instead of the stats and the term murdur doesn't really cover all bases anyhow. I'd want to know the chances of being mugged more.

You know... does it really matter? I mean, if you really really want to go to your dream place, I don't think you'd care that much. The government of these countries protect the tourists. Besides, there are perks and downsides of every place. So chill and go travel.

Perks would include cheap hotel stays, low costs for the trip and there are some beautiful places to visit. Mexico has some stunning vacation spots and while the foreign office will advise against it, I have been to Pakistan as well.
