I met up with an old friend and he told me about his whale watching experience at Hervey Bay. If my budget permits, I am going to do whale watching as well. I am not sure where yet, somewhere closer though, Australia seems too far off!

We did our whale watching on a beach in Hawks Nest, a few hours north of Sydney, for free. We were just enjoying the beach when we saw two whales playing at a little distance. True we couldn't SEE a lot but we did watch whales....hehe:D

Thats sounds great, I don't live near the coast so I have to travel out if I want to do the same. What my friend described though was watching around 18 whales swim with the boats and that sounds super cool. Something for the kids as well.

Can't have a whale watching destinations list without Orcas Island on it…its just off the coast of Washington state. It was a fantastic experience. We watched the killer Orca whales from a distance, and had a scuba diving expedition as well.

Well we are still trying to decide on it and I have heard about Hermanus, South Africa, as well. It is a shore based whale watching area and I think that sounds more fun for longer hours...and much closer to home than Hervey Bay

I have dived with sharks and boy is that thrilling. A lot more hands on experience than watching fishies from a boat. When the shark comes at you with its big open teeth.......I felt like breaking the cage and running away from the back side myself!!! but one things for sure, I would never forget that big mouth and pointy teeth:D

Another worth watching spot is the great barrier reef, here in Queensland. You don't see whales but its magical and if you really wanna have a look at the place in its glory then you better hurry. Climate change is not very gentle on such places.....there is a chance that we might loose the reef in the years to come......sad
