We are in the process of planning a backpacker trip through Europe this summer for about month and a half. There is a lot of info on the net but anyone with some good personal experiences to guide us on???

man the world is riddled with cheap accommodation, so you guys shouldn't have a lot of problem there. My advise....you can find the best exchange rates at the ATM's in Europe, especially in France. Good exchange rates go a long way in helping with a budget vacation so spend sometime figurnig out where you will get your money from

Good exchange rates are fine but I've always found it handy to have a good guide book with me. Should remember that there are different types of guide books; some are written for the high end backpackers that are ready to spend big $$ on everything and then there are guidebooks for those looking for cheap accommodations, if you find the right book for you, you can bet your bottom dollar you'll find the right hostels too ;)
