You didn't mention the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, thats starts every year on the Boxing day in Sydney and ends in Hobart, of course. Unlike other sports on boxing day (yup, Cricket) Aussies don't always win ;)

hehe...there is Cricket too. India is visiting and while I thought it was going to be a good series a win by 337 runs with a day to spare for Australia is quite demoralizing for the neutral supporters. I hope they win at least one game on the tour :P

The Australian Open is held in January, right? so that would be a Melbourne event in mid January. It does look like Australia is the place to be ;)

yah Algy, its going to be a boring series by the looks of it. Aussies are mildly beatable in one dayers maybe but in tests I doubt they can be beaten. Looks like India came to a gunfight with swords ;)

Cricket is coming to Sydney tomorrow as the second test starts between India and Australia. For anyone visiting Sydney, the Sydney Cricket Ground is one of the very best in the world so pop in. Just don't go with your hopes too high if you're backing the visitors ;)

At last a game that looks to be going down to the wire. I am uncertain about India's chances, seeing that the Aussies batsmen need only one life to make the opposition's life hell and the umpires did favour them in the first go. :P

I think more popular than your cricket,is tennis. The Australian Open will be stating soon and even though the winner is almost certain already, tennis is something that can be enjoyed by all. They are trying out a new turf this year as well. to lets see how it goes.

Now tennis is more up my alley. Federer is the clear winner though, I don't think he will have much challenge. Then again, I was surprised he lost an exibition match to Pete Sampras. I mean yah the man is a legend, the best when he did play but he is retired and all, shouldn't have managed a win over the world number one. :O
