Holidays in Rome
What could be more attractive than spending your hard-earned holiday in Rome? Rome has been called many names through the ages such as the eternal city, and the city of the seven hills, but no name could capture Rome’s actual grandeur and splendor such as the romance in its actual name does. Being one of the few cities to have survived the devastating damage of World War II, Rome has many attractions dating to as early as the Ancient Roman times and Renaissance to as late as our modern times. This not only makes the city a top destination for everyone; whether you are a history aficionado or an urban pleasure seeker.
Hotels in Rome
Let’s take a tour on what your holiday in Rome could be like. Rome is one of the few cities to have affordable and comfortable hotels everywhere. The rates can range depending on what rooms you book and the location. If you wish to fully experience Rome, you should pick one of the humbler hotels, since they give you an insider’s experience of Italian life. You don’t have to worry about lodging in an inn, since they usually are clean and hospitable.
Everything in Rome can be either reached on foot or by using the reliable public transportation – a bus is out every 10 minutes or so. Signs and tour guides are everywhere and you can never go wrong by asking an Italian to help you; for they are one of the most helpful nations in the world, not to mention good hearted and humorous.
Food in Rome

Italian food is renowned around the world, there is an array of choices and most of the local Bistros can offer a satiating meal without costing you an arm and a leg. Most believe that once you taste Italian pizza in Rome, you will not want the so called Italian pizza back home…can’t be too sure if that’s a positive or not, right?
Rome Attractions

Destinations in Rome can be divided according to your choice in eras, activities, or simply areas of interest. If you’re into Art, museums and the Vatican City would be an excellent option, who would waste a chance to see Michael Angelo’s ceiling in the Sistine Chapel? For those more into politics, the Fascist residue might be of interest; many attractions hold documents, photos, and books in relation to the Fascist regime that changed our world forever. Those passionate about theology can experience a first hand meeting with monks and clergy men, not to mention; visit Rome’s various theological attractions from the Pantheon, to Medieval Basilicas, to modern theological institutions. As for music lovers, Rome is one of the most musically diverse cities, with musicians playing on the streets and shows every night, styles that range from pop, rock, and classic. From ancient times, theater has been one of the strengths of Rome, operas and plays are still a big part of life in Rome and there are weekly showings in local theaters.
Of course review of a destination is never complete without a little general knowledge of the locals but sitting in a café, late at night, is one of the most wonderful aspects of Rome. With the serene atmosphere and their delicious cappuccinos you can always strike a conversation with the locals, given that they know your language (or you are decent with theirs!), most of them are very friendly and you can definitely make a friend or two during your stay.

When youre eating Italian food, go for Italian wines too, its part of the authentic experience, try not to fall for tourist traps, Italian pasta and pizza are different from what the Americans have made it out to be.
