The town of Hua Hin, Thailand’s most popular beach resort vacation destination, is famous for a wide variety of reasons. There is of course, a series of several incredible royal palaces; there are beautiful white sandy beaches; there is a gorgeous fishing village; and there are dozens of friendly and welcoming faces.

One of the most popular tourist destinations in the entire town, however, is the Royal Hua Hin Golf Course. The Royal Hua Hin Golf Course was built in 1924, immediately after the 1921 construction of Thailand’s railway. After connecting the southern town of Hua Hin with northern Bangkok, a Scottish railway engineer known as O.A.Robins embarked on a quest to design a golf course.
About the Royal Hua Hin Golf Course
The Royal Hua Hin Golf Course is conveniently set only a few kilometers away from the center of the town itself. After walking only a short distance from the Hua Hin railway station you’ll find yourself face to face with the first tee.

This amazing golf course is completely natural, meaning Hua Hin’s natural hilly terrain and limestone embankments were not altered in any way during the construction of the course. They were instead left in their original state and included in the development of the plans along with the many trees surrounding the course.

The Royal Hua Hin Golf Course is a par 72 course featuring 18 holes. While there are no special water hazards to fear, players and tourists have occasionally reported monkeys running off with their golf balls. This isn’t usually a problem unless you’re on the back nine and hit your balls a bit too close to the surrounding jungle.
Hua Hin Golf Tours
While the Royal Hua Hin Golf Course is the first and most popular, there are several other amazing courses to choose from. Golf is so popular, in fact, that there are actually tour groups willing to take you from course to course during your stay.
