The World’s Deadliest Sea Creatures

There are a lot of activities to keep you laughing and having fun while in the ocean. It’s a safe and harmless place right? Not if you come across one of these deadly animals:
Saltwater Crocodile
Saltwater Crocodiles are extremely deadly, reaching a length of 17 feet and a weight of over 1,000 pounds. Lurking below the water, they wait for their meal and will eat anything. Without warning, they explode from the water, dragging their prey under to their death.

Puffer fish
Puffer fish contain a toxin that is deadly to humans. There is enough toxin in one Puffer fish to kill 30 people and there’s no known antidote. Ironically, these fish are considered a delicacy in Japan despite the fact one bad cut means certain death.

Box Jellyfish
Box Jellyfish are found in the waters around Australia and, like all jellyfish, they are transparent so you won’t see them coming. You have virtually no chance of surviving their poisonous sting, unless treated immediately. Most people don’t die from the sting but from the shock the pain causes.

Blue Ring Octopus
Despite its small size, the Blue Ring Octopus carries enough poison to kill over twenty people within minutes. It is one of the deadliest animals on this list. It will hunt small animals but will bite an attacker, even a human, if provoked or stepped on. The venom causes paralysis and respiratory arrest. There’s no known cure.

Stonefish
The Stonefish lives primarily above the Tropic of Capricorn and hides among rocks. Its dorsal area is lined with thirteen spines that release a venomous toxin that causes severe pain, paralysis, and tissue death. It’s fatal if medical attention is not given in the first few hours.

Great White Shark
The Great White Shark is the top of the ocean food chain. An exceptionally large creature, the Great White is found all over the world. It is one of the deadliest animals in the ocean and will eat anything. Movies like Jaws may have hyped up the threat but cross one of these sharks and it’s the last thing you’ll ever come across.

Sea Snakes
Sea snakes are venomous snakes found in warm waters. They are some of the deadliest snakes in the world and are usual docile unless provoked. The majority of sea snakes are highly venomous. Bites usually go unnoticed. If uncaught, bites can lead to cardiac arrest within twelve hours.

Cone Shell
The Cone Shell can be very attractive and making them tempting to pick up. They have teeth like small harpoons, which can penetrate clothing. If disturbed, they’ll bite and the venom can lead to death. Symptoms of pain, swelling and numbness are common.

Ahh! I don’t want to go into the ocean now!
i was doing homework on this right before i go to perth to swim
cool pics i hate the shark one
everything is so cool ha
very gud information…swimmers and divers need to be cautious
cool, i love the stone head
Know the waters you are exploring and make sure to listen to divemaster. Never touch anything. Even if it does not contain toxic venom, it is likely very fragile and slow growing. Everything we do has dangers. It is up to us to know them, prepare for them and be good stewards of our environment.
Dont Think I Want To Swimm With Those Any Time Soon
:L
i think all these creatures are great i have swam with great whites and never been attacked
) x
The bull shark is the number one deadly shark so i dont understand how the great white shark is on the list and the bull shark isnt. Jaws was actually inspired by the Bull shark. the piece of info under the great white is also wrong because most attacks result in loss of a limb, not death b.c the shark will not just eat ANYTHING.
i am reasearching the octopus but i don’t think i am ever going to pic up a snail againn! ouch
i still want to go to california for tech college and surf my butt off
Why does the fish look like he is really a rock. and i thought that there wasn’ t and fish that had poison.
I wouldent want to swim with one eigther. lol
not true great whites are 1st there have been more than three encounters between it and the saltwater croc all won by great white
they are the reasons why I am,scared to swim or travel across th sea
I don’t want to encounter anyone of them.
i want to get the all and rape them
is this real world so dealy???

Wow i surf and snorkel everyday in the summer and now i feel like the water itself wants to hurt me, but the advice was really helpfull on my school report
I LOVE JADE
these are some bad ass animals i want a sea snake i seen one before its awsome and i cought sharks before they aint all that like people say
wow really intresting n good link
….had the weirdest thought….

‘thank god cockroaches aren’t poisonous’….
But awesome info…it was really interesting…
The puffer fish looks so cute~
actually the wale shark is the most deadly shark…
and…… sting rays did not kidd the croc hunter…. he pulled out the stinger knowing that it wasz not the smartest thing to do, if he did not do that he would not have died. and he knowingly chose a life filled with dangers. i am not bashing him he is my hero but its also the truth.
and another thing is why would you be scared of the sea/ocean now? its the most beautiful place in the world. and if you do not intaganize the creatures they wont EAT YOU
Its funny how the box jellyfish is the deadlest Creature on Earth it has a very soft body but yet the sting is so deadly and most people dont feel the sting so they dont survive it has so much venom you have to get help immedately are you wont survive !
You hurt animals.
Animals, WILL HURT, “YOU!!!”
It’s called,
“REVENGE!”
how steve irwin was able to wrestle with massive crocs is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(i’d probably run home as fast as i could! LOL:))
The Ocean . . . the REAL final frontier!!!
