When planning a trip, you should always consider the weather and the events of the season in the city or the region you intend to see. If you really want to feel satisfied after a trip, make sure you think twice before choosing the time and place of your journey. Here are some tips for the best places you could in Europe see this fall.
5. Parma, Italy
Starting on October 1st, Festival Verdi is one of the greatest cultural events in all of Italy. Operas, events, concerts and exhibitions daily until October 28 will enliven the life of the city. Parma is a wonderful town in the Emilia-Romagna region and also the hometown of numerous famous artists, one of which is Giuseppe Verdi – one of Italy’s most important opera composers. Besides the festival, the fall is the perfect time to visit Parma, since the high temperatures of the summer are long gone.
4. Sitges, Spain
Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia takes place in the first weeks of October and it is the most important Sci-Fi film festival in the world. The first edition took place in 1968 and since then, the festival became a reference in the fantastic film-making industry. Sitges is a lovely Catalan town, located 35 kilometers south of Barcelona. The Cau Ferrat and Maricel museums, as well as the Old Quarter are a must see, once you get in the area.
3. Galway, Ireland
If sometimes you think seafood is the best delicacy man could cook up, then you will sure want to visit The International Oyster Festival that takes place at Galway, usually at the end of September. With more than 50 years of history, the festival hosted in Galway is one of the most joyful events in the Western Ireland. Galway is also considered a hub for all the tourists visiting Eire, since it represents the starting point for visiting the picturesque region of the island.
2. Perugia, Italy
Relatively a young festival, Eurochocolate celebrates the “pure and fair chocolate” made without oils and fats. Europe’s biggest chocolate bazaar gathered last year more than one million visitors. Perugia is a wonderful and well preserved medieval town in the province of Umbria. A major academic center, this multicultural town is probably one of the most welcoming places in Italy.
1. Beaujolais Region, France
If you would like to taste the best wines in the world, all the connoisseurs will recommend you the French ones. Each year, on the third Thursday of November, more than 120 festivals honor the release of the Beaujolais wines. The most important festivals in the lower Burgundy are the Sarmentelles Festival in Beaujeau, the historical capital of the province and the Beajol’ympiades, hosted in Lyon.
