Thus it is larger than Surat in both aspects. It needs more attention than surat because of haphazard development. Surat will soon get a metropolitan authority named SMRDA which will replace SUDA. Its jurisdiction will be from Kosamba to Chikhli and from Hazira to Bardoli. Even mumbai is still lacking from metro train then surat is far behind.
