It was released as a limited edition in 2006, and sold out so fast that the producer quickly released another Lalique series, The Macallan 55.

Made out of Golden Promise barley, the 50-year-old single malt whiskey has strong notes of cumin, cardamom, prunes and chocolate. It is believed that the price of The Macallan Lalique will double in the next 4-5 years, making it the most expensive whiskey in the world, even more expensive than that, The Macallan Fine & Rare, a sold-out edition, is only available in a hotel in Atlantic City.
